10,000 Women is a five-year investment by Goldman Sachs to provide 10,000 underserved women around the world with a business and management education.
10,000 Women operates through a network of more than 70 academic and non-profit partners to develop locally relevant coursework for students and to improve the quality and capacity of business education. Investing in women is one of the most effective ways to reduce inequality and facilitate inclusive economic growth. Investing in education for women has a significant multiplier effect, leading to more productive workers, healthier and better-educated families, and ultimately to more prosperous communities.
Through the 10,000 Women initiative, women entrepreneurs shall receive a customized business education from local universities across a range of disciplines, including:
Marketing
Strategic Planning
Accounting
Market Research
e-commerce
Business plan writing
These pragmatic, short-term programs help to open doors for women who would not otherwise have access to a business education. Students are offered mentoring and post-graduation support by partner institutions, local businesses and the people of Goldman Sachs.
The initiative is designed to foster greater shared economic growth and is based on research which found that investing in girls and women yields significant economic growth.

The IESE Business School in Barcelona, Spain, Goldman Sachs’ academic partner in Europe, has chosen the University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) to be its collaborator in the 10,000 Women initiative in Asia. Among the specific program activities arising from this partnership include the offering of a Business Training Program (BTP) to underserved women-entrepreneurs, a Teacher Training Program to prepare a pool of faculty who will help not only teach but help develop the course and learning materials specific to the business and management certificate course.
IESE Business School will provide faculty training and facilitate the case study writing workshops and mentoring of UA&P faculty in case-study writing to develop locally relevant case studies.

IESE Business School, the graduate school of management of the University of Navarra, is located in Barcelona and Madrid and has facilities in Munich, New York and Sao Paulo. It offers the MBA, Global Executive MBA, Executive MBA and PhD in Management degrees, as well as a wide range of executive education programs for global senior executives and Continuing Education programs for alumni.
In 1957, the foundations were laid for the creation of IESE Business School. In 1964, the school established Europe’s first 2-year MBA program, with the support of Harvard Business School. In 1980, it began offering the world’s premier bilingual MBA program; and in 1994, the school pioneered the concept of joint-venture executive education. In 2000, IESE launched its Global Executive MBA featuring modular residential sessions in Barcelona, Silicon Valley and Shanghai and state-of-the-art distance learning technology.
A hallmark of the IESE experience is the school's dedication to the individual development of each and every student and participant in its programs. This is done by fostering a culture of learning, and by placing the professional and personal development of all students and program participants at the center of all concerns. This people-centered approach reflects IESE’s belief that the aim of managers must be to serve people and society.

The University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) is a private, not-for-profit institution of higher learning. It traces its beginnings to the Center for Research and Communication (CRC), which was established 42 years ago as a private think-tank that conducted economic and social research and offered graduate courses in economics. It gradually expanded its educational activities to other fields.
In 1995, it was granted university status by the Commission on Higher Education and has since been known as the University of Asia and the Pacific. At present, it has the following academic units:
College of Arts and Sciences (CAS)
School of Economics (SEC)
School of Education and Human Development (SED)
School of Management (SMN)
School of Communication (SCM)
Institute of Information Technology Studies (IITS)
Institute of Political Economy (IPE)
In its institutional programs and activities, UA&P puts due emphasis on the individual, the family, the community, and the world. Each unit of the University thus strives to be a center of excellence, particularly in three areas: values formation, people development, and research and communication. These are the hallmarks of UA&P as an educational institution.
